Ronovo Surgical among first innovators to take residence in GE Healthcare China's largest Innovation Center - the Shanghai Foundry
On November 16, 2023, the third Innovation Center of GE Healthcare China (GEHC) was officially unveiled in Shanghai. As the largest and most comprehensive innovation entity among the three Innovation Centers of GEHC, the Shanghai Foundry is a 4,000-square meter facility that focuses on digital healthcare to provide integrated hardware and software-based imaging solutions for innovation partners.
As one of the first four partners to join the Shanghai Foundry, Ronovo Surgical is honored to be part of the GEHC innovation ecosystem. The company aims to integrate its surgical robotics technology into GEHC's medical imaging platform, supporting GEHC's further expansion into clinical and therapeutic applications. This collaboration between Ronovo and GEHC seeks to empower surgeons with streamlined preoperative planning and precise surgical navigation in order to benefit a wide range of patients.
During the unveiling event at the Shanghai Foundry, keynote speeches were delivered by distinguished guests, such as Mr. Wu Qiang, Deputy District Mayor of Pudong New Area in Shanghai and Director of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Management Committee; Mr. Peter J. Arduini, Global President and CEO of GE Healthcare; and Mr. Zhang Yihao, Global Executive Vice President, China President, and CEO of GEHC. They looked forward to jointly exploring with innovation partners the practical applications of cutting-edge digital technology together with integrated diagnostic and therapeutic solutions.
Representing Ronovo Surgical as one of the inaugural innovation partners, Founder and CEO, Dr. John Ma, was invited to attend the launch ceremony of the Shanghai Foundry, after which he had a fruitful discussion with Mr. Peter J. Arduini to establish a solid collaborative foundation and accelerate the integration partnership to achieve seamless diagnostic and therapeutic integration.
The collaboration between Ronovo Surgical and GEHC stems from shared characteristics and a common goal. Both companies possess innovative DNA and are committed to serving patients in China. While GEHC provides cutting-edge medical imaging diagnostic technology for clinical applications, Ronovo Surgical offers a modular surgical robot for advanced surgical treatment.
Medical imaging is a crucial basis for disease diagnosis, and the visualization system is an integral component of minimally invasive surgery. Ronovo Surgical's independently developed high-definition 3D laparoscopic system not only provides surgeons with real, clear, and real-time surgical images, but also offers additional diagnostic information when combined with imaging data, facilitating preoperative planning and intraoperative decision-making.
Through collaboration with GEHC, the deep integration of diagnostic medical imaging technologies with surgical robotics platforms harnesses their respective strengths, mutually empowering each other.
